Notes from the producer Andrew Pattison...
festival folk sing Gordon Lightfoot is the fifth compilation of artists celebrating the talents of an influential songwriter, following on from festival folk sing Judy Small (2013), Bob Dylan (2012), Eric Bogle (2011) and Joni Mitchell (2010). Marina Hurley came up with the concept and produced all four of these albums. I put my hand up this time, on behalf of the original baby boomers who witnessed the 1960s’ folk revival and the evolution of the contemporary folk singer-songwriter, to acknowledge the phenomenal talents and productivity of Gordon Lightfoot, and to introduce his music to a later generation.
